I couldn’t resist photographing this uprooted tree on the northern beach of Brownsea Island on a recent visit.

It’s appearance seems almost sci-fi in nature, as if it is crawling up from the sea on a mission of human destruction!

HDR processing has created this unearthly image, drawing out the sky detail while maintaining that of the tree itself.
